Understanding Taxes for Artists

By CultureWorks x Leeway (other events)

2 Dates Through Mar 15, 2018

ABOUT ABOUT

Tax season can be scary, especially for artists, sole-proprietors, and small businesses. We’re here to help!

Whether you’re receiving grants, financially profiting from your art, self-employed or have an LLC, you must file taxes. But, what are the best filing options for your situation? CultureWorks Greater Philadelphia, Leeway Foundation, and Vision Driven Artists have teamed up to help demystify tax season!

With over 25 years of experience working with artists and small businesses, tax consultant Christianne Kapps will offer instruction and advice, and help explain some of the more confusing tax subjects for artists. In addition, Christianne will break down the City of Philadelphia’s Business Income and Receipts Tax and how it affects artists.

These workshops are free, but space is limited so RSVP is required (except for the 1/29 session with Vision Driven Artists). American Sign Language and childcare available for the 2/22 + 3/15 sessions with prior notice (by February 15) – There will be an option to request when reserving a ticket.

PLEASE NOTE: Although Leeway and CultureWorks are conducting these sessions in parternship, there are different locations for each one. The information presented in both workshops will be identical, and both spaces are wheelchair accessible.
